Over the past 8 years, Dhollandia customers have become accustomed to the fact that the brand's steel elements are treated with one of the most modern KTL (cataphoretic) painting processes in the automotive industry under the name 'Protection PLUS', which is preceded by a zinc phosphate treatment and sealed with epoxy-polyester powder coating as a top layer. This process is still one of the most modern and effective means of preventing corrosion in the industry today. This year's Hannover Commercial Vehicle Show provided Dhollandia with the opportunity to announce its latest investment, which makes the highest quality surface treatment available on the tailgate market. The company's new hot-dip galvanizing plant was inaugurated at the company's Žilina factory, which is now ready to handle Dhollandia's most widely used tailgate designs.
Hot-dip galvanizing is currently the most advanced form of corrosion protection in the automotive industry. The essence of the technology is that the steel structure, cleaned of surface contaminants, is immersed in a liquid zinc bath. Here, iron and zinc react, forming a protective zinc coating. It consists of various alloy phases, the metallic connection of which ensures that the coating is highly resistant to external mechanical influences. In addition, galvanizing provides electrochemical corrosion protection, which protects the base metal even in the case of minor damage.
As the only company on the market, Dhollandia now offers hot-dip galvanised steel components as standard on the steel components of its most sold folding and sliding tailgates. Of course, the equally modern 'Protection PLUS' system will also remain in the range, which will be available mainly on smaller series models in the future.
